Suited to Success Inc<STS> is a not-for-profit community organisation helping people overcome barriers to employment. Established in 2008, we have supported thousands of people to secure lasting employment.
We provideprograms and services from our premises in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. We also run the Dress for Success®Brisbane program for women.
Our high-quality, professional and extensive programs and services cover all areas of preparing for the workforce including our signature Boutique styling session, help with interview skills and preparation as well as building self-confidence, skills and motivation.
Programs and Services for all people and all ages
We help people from any background, gender or age. Our programs are delivered by a small, dedicated team of qualified staff and trained volunteers including counselors, social and human services professionals and human resource specialists.
We offer five flagship programs
- Steps to Work Program – an intensive employment job assistance program for people of any age and background
- Steps to Work Youth Program – an employment job assistance programfor people aged 15 - 24
- Career Hub – resume and interview skills assistance
- Styling Boutique for men and women including Dress for Success® Brisbane – personal styling session to select outfits forinterview and work
- Development Network – ongoing networking with skills development workshopsand support
Role
The ProgramOfficeris responsible for the effective development, delivery, evaluationand reporting of all STS programs including Steps to Work and Career Hub
Reporting Relationships
- Reports to and works closely with the General Manager
- Wellness Officers, volunteer HR specialists and facilitatorsreport to this position
- Works closely with the Client & Service Manager and Boutique Day Managers
- Liaises withclient referral consultants and funding bodies
Terms of Appointment
- Six month part-time contract
- 20hours per week over 5 days Monday – Friday
- Office hours are from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
- Social, Community, Home care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 Level 4
Responsibilities
- Develop course content and evaluation tools for all programs as required
- Deliver and provide reports on all programs under service contracts against agreed plans and within approved budgets to comply with the terms and conditions of agreements
- Train and oversee staff and volunteers with HR & facilitation skillswithin the budget to provide appropriate support for all clients including those with mental health issues and complex employment barriers
- Establish and implement screening procedures to ensure adequate client recruitment tomeet eligibility and project number requirements
- Develop and implement project plans and budgets for all service delivery projects
- Obtain feedback from all clients using evaluation tools to report outcome measures for each program or intervention
- Deliver one-on-one and groups sessions to clients as required
- Liaise as necessary with client referral consultants and funding bodies
- Promote and deliver presentations on programs to external stakeholders
- Ensure that all project activities and course content are documented
- Ensure appropriate escalation of all issues and complaints in line with STS policies and procedures
- Carry out all activities in compliance with Workplace Safety requirements

- Excellentwritten and oral communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal direction and effectively delegate responsibilities with appropriate follow-up
- Excellent negotiation and mediation skillswith ability to deal with difficult situations
- Problem solving & decision making covering planning, setting & achieving targets and relationship management

Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, teaching or related field
- At least 5 years’ experience in a leadership/people management role preferably with some project management and not-for-profit experience
- Experience in curriculum development against competency frameworks, delivery and evaluation of programs preferably in the community services sector
