We are conducting the UK’s biggest ever peace-time recruitment campaign – and we need your help! As a selection event volunteer, you will help us to interview aspiring Games Makers, while developing new skills and making new friends.This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Glasgowselection event will be held at the Science CentrefromWednesday 4 May until Sunday15 May 2011.Selection event volunteers will be expected tovolunteer for a minimum of fourshifts. Shifts will lastfive hours and you’ll volunteer for either a morning or an afternoon shift.

Please tick the four (or more) days that you are available to volunteer. We will try where possible to allocate you to these days, but this is not guaranteed.

Selection event volunteers are expected todisplay the following:

  • Flexibility – you should be adaptable and able to learn from different situations and deal with changing priorities.
  • Friendliness – you should be helpful, welcoming and supportive of team members.
  • A positive attitude – you should be enthusiastic, service-focused and have a 'can do' attitude.

Selection event volunteers must:

  • be aged 18 years old or over on 1 January 2011;
  • have excellent communication skills;
  • have good written and verbal English;
  • be able to volunteer for a minimum of four shifts;
  • attend a one-day training course to learn about selection event volunteering;
  • be eligible to volunteer within the UK in accordance with immigration rules; and
  • sign a confidentiality agreement and letter of agreement.
