Core Beliefs Statement:

Could be based on what our core beliefs are as a school and as a district

  • Children are our greatest resource and the key to our global future as all children have skills, talents, and unique abilities that they bring to the learning environment
  • Fostering a culturally responsive climate that values all children’s unique abilities and life experiences
  • All children can learn and shall be provided equitable opportunities for continuous improvement leading to high academic achievement and continuous growth as lifelong learners
  • Developing relationships between all stakeholders, students, staff, and community members, will partner in the shared responsibility of our children’s education
  • In order to prepare our students as 21st century learners, the curriculum will be tightly aligned to the State Standards
  • Students will be provided with a learning environment that is nurturing and welcoming in a clean, safe, orderly building

Needs to be emailed and shared with the staff for discussion – any changes should be sent to Mrs. Palivoda by Friday, Sept. 20th

Recruitment of SLC members:

  • Dr. Falaise has recruited a parent for SLC
  • Need union representation in the meetings and will bring up union issues when they come up
  • Mr. Feins will speak to Mrs. Sforza about representation of the union

Honors Programs Requirements

  • Mrs. Ries inquired as to whether or not the requirements are written down
  • If so, can we acquire them and read them?
  • Place students close to honors curriculum – work is fine just missing the NJ ASK scores
  • Don’t throw them in with lower students, need to be pushed to achieve higher
