- CALL TO ORDER
a.Prayer- Delivered by Major Earl Richardson.
b.Welcome– Major Gordon welcomed CAPT Bruce Stinnett (Navy) to the meeting.
- REVIEW
a.Meeting Minutes – The meeting minutes from the 17 Nov 08 and 10 Dec 08 meetings were reviewed and accepted.
- EXECUTIVE BOARD REPORT
a.Treasurer– Beginning Balance: $11, 894.94, Deposits: $285; Expenses: $700; Ending Balance $11,504.98. All funds are currently still in the checking account. Treasurer report was accepted.
b.Membership/Webmaster– A new page was added to web site entitled “Fundraisers” – Members can use this page to find latest NNOA fundraising events. Membership Director explained the Membership Challenge Rules.
c.Public Affairs – Members need to contact Major McGill for tickets to the BHM Prayer Breakfast and Dinner. Major McGill will be singing at the Prayer Breakfast. The Winter Newsletter was distributed to the chapter the first week in January and is posted on the website.
d.Scholarship – Letters have been sent to the businesses that supported the scholarship fundraising in the past. Letters will be sent to the businesses that supported the DC Chapter’s scholarship fund. Kelly Martin-Rivers reiterated the ease and importance of using the iGive.com website to search and purchase goods as a continuing support of the scholarship fund.
e.Chaplain – No Report
f.Historian – Major Melissa Ayres (Congratulations!!!!) still has Quantico NNOA long-sleeve, white t-shirts on sale. The cost is $15.00 (donation).
g.Fundraising/Social – Still awaiting the arrival of the Dominoes Pizza Cards. Mrs. Caren Owens explained the benefit of selling the cards: chapter gets a 90% profit, cards can be used until 31 Dec 09, the cards pay for themselves after the first purchase, cards can be used nation wide, and they only cost $10. .
h.Secretary – Reminded members to sign the waiver. 2ndLT Hellena Pugh, CAPT Bruce Stinnett, and 2ndLt Nicole Taylor signed the waiver. 1st and 2nd quarter reports are due to the National Secretary. Supporting documentation must be submitted along with the form on the website.
i.Vice President – CMC will speak at the Marine’s Luncheon at this year’s NNOA Nat’l Conference. The National board praised the newsletter: Bravo Zulu – Major McGill!!!
j.President – No Report.
- OLD BUSINESS/RECURRING EVENTS
a.Fundraiser Update– Caren Owens sent an email asking the Dominoes Pizza representative if the cards were sent. She has not received a reply. A check for $200 was sent to purchase the cards.
b.Adopt-A-Family – Chapter raised $525 in gift cards for a Marine Corps family of three.

b.Blacks in Government (BIGs)BHM Prayer Breakfast (12 February)
c.BHM Formal Dinner Ticket Sales (28 February) - Major McGill past on a request from the BIGs committee to push info about BHM event support down the to the troop level; chapter committee members requested Maj McGill to inform BIGs to consider the pricing of events be tailored to fit the budget of the troops.
d.Evening of Jazz (31 Jan)
e.Domino’s Pizza Cards– We are still awaiting for the arrival of the cards
