Dear colleagues!
The Vth International Conference “Ultramafic-mafic complexes: geology, structure, ore potential” will take place from Saturday 2 September to Wednesday 6 September 2017 at the hotel “Baikal Riviera” ( in Gremyachinsk, the Republic of Buryatia, Russia. This conference is devoted to contemporary problems of geochemistry, mineralogy and petrology of intrusive complexes and associated ore deposits. The format of the conference includes a discussion of a wide range of genetic issues, an active exchange of geological data and the results of experimental and theoretical researches. This tradition dates back to the Ist International conference "Ultramafic-mafic complexes of Precambrian folded regions", which took place in 2005 in Enkhaluk, Republic of Buryatia. The success of that meeting initiated the IInd Conference "Ultramafic-mafic complexes of folded regions" (2007, Chernorud, Irkutsk region), and then the IIIrd Conference "Ultramafic-mafic complexes of folded regions and related ore deposits" (2009, Kachkanar, Sverdlovsk region). In between, two youth workshopswere organised at the lake Baikal, and special sections were arranged at meetings in Yekaterinburg and Khabarovsk. The IVth International Conference "Ultramafic-mafic complexes of folded regions and their mineral genesis" and the IIIrd Youth Workshop were held in August 2012 at Baikalsky Priboy, Republic of Buryatia.
The Organising Committee of the Vth International Conference "Ultramafic-mafic complexes: geology, structure, ore potential" invites you to Baikal shore and is confident that this meeting will be useful and productive. The participation of world-class experts, the exchange of the latest achievements and information on new findings and discoveries will contribute to the development of ideas about the relationship of differentiation processes of mafic-ultramafic magmas and the concentration mechanisms of some metals in the supply channels and the magma chambers. We hope that you will make a professional contribution to the scientific interaction at the conference, which will become a significant event of the international geological science.
The Conference is organised by Geological Institute of SB RAS, Geological Faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Buryat State Universityand Society of Geologists Applied to Mineral Deposits.
CONFERENCE TOPICS
- Geology, tectonic position and geodynamic interpretation of the ultramafic-mafic complexes
- Petrology, geochemistry and forming conditions of ultramafic-mafic complexes, local forecast of mineralisation
- Isotopic geochemistry of ultramafic-mafic complexes and its interpretation
- Metamorphic, hydrothermal, metasomatic and supergene processes in connection with the ultramafic-mafic complexes and associated mineralization
- Physical and chemical experiments and modelling of differentiation of mafic-ultramafic magmas
