CREDIT HOURS: 1 semester hour
CO-REQUISITE: AH 330
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Assigned specific laboratory experiences in therapeutic modality application. Must be taken with AH 330 and serves as its laboratory. Students must attain ten hours clinical experience as a part of the total hours needed to be eligible to sit for the NATA-BOC certification examination.
OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this course, the successful student will be able to:
- Understand and recognize a systematic, sequential method of completing a physical agent modality application.
- Understand and recognize the skillful manual techniques of application of assigned therapeutic modalities.
- Understand and recognize the indications and contraindications of the use of therapeutic modalities practically.
- Understand and recognize the independent ability to safely and effectively provide a physical agent modality to a patient.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
- Meet at least 2/3 of all class meetings
- Each student will participate fully in practical laboratory sessions
- Five Quizzes
- Two major practical examinations
- Attain 10 contact hours towards total for NATABOC requirements

- Attendance: A student cannot receive credit for a course if he/she does not attend at least two-thirds of the class meetings, regardless of the reason for the absence. The attendance policy of the UWA ATEP program will also be followed as set by the Director of Sports Medicine in the Policy & Procedures Manual.
