Essays : “Much knowledge is a danger”.

To begin with I must say that I quite agree with the statement “Much knowledge is a danger”.

The first thing that needs to be said is: “Much information destroys the people’s health”. One of the most striking features of this problem is: a great deal of negative news influences badly on people’s brains, psychological and emotional mood.

It is true that nowadays nearly every newspaper, TV channels and Internet’s sites are full of criminals, murders and violence. One cannot deny that today our everyday life is packed with different problems. Many people can’t solve them and fall into depression. Instead of giving a good judicial or psychological advice to people in need our mass media press people with negative films and talk- shows.

One more argument in support of this fact is the next. After Malakhov’s talk-shows on the

1st TV channel “Pust’ govoryat” a great majority of people have bad mood. They are frightened of everything. They are afraid to go out, to travel, to marry, to buy new things and food, they are afraid to visit doctors and they lose any hope and expectations for better life.

On the other hand public in general tend to believe that knowledge is power. One should, however, not forget that it is impossible to know everything. Let us try to understand the following. The teacher must teach the children and the doctor must take care of sick people. The tailor can make comfortable clothes and the architect can build beautiful houses.

A well known English proverb says: Live and learn. That’s true. If you want to get some knowledge and information in one trade or another you can always find them in books and ask your teachers and friends any time you need them during your life.

Our teachers always say: “You will need your knowledge in future”. But why must we fill our brains with unnecessary knowledge and information just now? In conclusion I want to sum up the following. Don’t disturb your head and brains with unnecessary knowledge and information before hands. The future comes and knowledge and experience will come too.

The first thing that needs to be said is: “Much knowledge is a great power, not a danger”.

In today’s world it is very important to know as much as possible. As a matter of fact we live in the age of progress and new technologies. If you want to be a successful man you should be a Jack of all trades.

Firstly, you should get any opportunity to get good knowledge at school. You must do your best and try yourself in many subjects and trades to find your own way of living. Otherwise, how can you get your future profession?

Secondly, in any time during our history the people always respected clever and wise persons. Furthermore, thanks to clever and hardworking scientists we have all modern conveniences nowadays. In ancient times the scientists were executed and imprisoned for their progressive ideas, nevertheless they continued to make inventions and experiments. Let us remember George Bruno and many other great people.

Furthermore, one should not forget that “Zeal without knowledge is a runaway horse”. If you are lack of knowledge you are unable to make even the simplest breakfast, if once you find yourself on the far away island. I do not insist on the statement that everybody must know everything at his fingertips. But, doubtless, you must have an imagination of the world and things around you.

Besides, knowledge makes our life interesting, rich and different. A lot of sources with information surround us. They are books, dictionaries, newspapers and magazines, Internet, and TV. The more we know, the more opportunities for better life we have. Only knowledge makes a full man. You can’t find a good job or get a profession without knowledge.

From these arguments one can make a conclusion that knowledge is power, and our life in the 21st century, the century of progress and new technologies is nonsense without widespread knowledge
