CPS is a polling booth for the Federal Elections. (Election Spring Fair 2012 raised $5,600).
We will need parents and carers to help out with both of these events.
Roster - a request out via Canterbury Tales, the P&C & Parent Reps for volunteers to assist on the day. We also need someone who lives locally to volunteer to book a council clean up for the week starting 9th September.
A few parents have already contacted me to advise they are available - Thanks!!!
Posters
Jacqui KR has designed a fabulous poster for the Spring Market Day & Fathers Day Breakfast. Request to P&C members to print colour posters, laminate and put the Spring Market Day posters up around the local neighbourhood area & Fathers Day around the school.
The mums are holding a copy of social events:
- Friday 30th August, the K-2 Mums (plus a couple of yr 3 mums) have planned a social dinner at a local restaurant.
- Sunday 13th October from 2pm, the Mums are holding a clothes swap - this is expected to be another popular social event, with a selection savoury & sweet finger food, a few drinks, a laugh trying on different fashions and whilst at the same time raising funds for the school.
It was also suggested that the P&C apply for various Grants that are available to assist schools.
The committee continues to raise ongoing funds.
The sale of the 2nd hand uniforms is proving popular and is a great way to recycle unwanted uniforms (we are still looking for a couple of Kindy mums to take over the organising of this) and the P&C continues to receive commission from “Stuck on You Labels”.A number of families have purchased thenew issue of theEntertainment Book(with $13 from each book sold going to the P&C).
The P&C has now signed up to Aussie Farmers Direct - an Australian ownedhome delivery food business for ongoing fundraising. Members are able to nominate CPS on the order and 2% of weekly grocery spends are donated back every six months.
All funds raised from the events will be used to benefit the students at CPS.
Advance planning for 2014 includes an outdoor Movie Night and Trivia Night in Term 1 and a Bunnings BBQ later in the year.
