MetalGate Czech Death Fest 2016 – initial tidings about the eighth installment

In the third week of July 2016, that is, from Thursday, June 16, to Saturday, June 18, the usual crime scene of autocamp Brodský in Červený Kostelec shall host the already eighth installment of the Czech metal feast MetalGate Czech Death Fest! And if you saw our brochure from the MGCDF 2015, you surely noticed the remark that the next installment “will be completely different…Beware”.

What does it mean exactly? Rest assured nothing dramatic, though our initial ideas headed in the direction of folklore songs and dances, macromolecular catering and Zen meditations combined with Alpine yodel contest and presentations of funeral homes (so that we stay true to our name), but perhaps something, for the eighth installment shall be in several key aspects different after all.

First, in terms of dramaturgy, next year you can expect a greater number of foreign bands, for we would like to introduce you to interesting and/or unusual acts active on the global metal scene. However, that does not mean that you would be deprived of a hefty load of Czech metal. The first confirmed bands shall be announced in early December.

Second, to further improve your stay on MetalGate Czech Death Fest, we are expanding supplementary activities and festival facilities. First and foremost, as a family-friendly festival we are preparing a festival daycare, wherein your children will have an entertaining program under the supervision of our qualified staff, so that even our youngest visitors can have pleasant experiences. Furthermore, you can look forward to a festival cinema, which will take place right on stage after the music production of each day is concluded and shall offer unconventional program, or to purely leisure activities, such as dart shooting range or a contest in hammering down nails, to pass the time. To underscore the generally friendly and easygoing atmosphere that traditionally reigns over MetalGate Czech Death Fest, a festival campfire right on the main grounds is also in store for you. In due time, we shall bring you more information about the individual activities.

Campfire means sausages, which brings us to the third area, that is, to festival catering, which will also get improvements so that your taste buds can also enjoy themselves. The golden ale for cheap price from the partner brewery Primátor shall not be absent of course. Another innovation regarding catering is the implementation of the festival currency that every visitor will buy at the entrance to the venue. We are well aware that this is a first for MGCDF, whereby we shall do our best, prices set-up included, to make this measure as little a hassle for you as possible.

And since we are innovating, then from the ground, meaning that a new look was given even to the festival website, wherein all information regarding the festival proceedings will be regularly posted, so that you are kept informed.
