New NCC Lab Printing Instructions

North Central College has made an important change to how printing is handled in student/public labs across campus. Printing in back officesis not affected by this change.The new printing software, named Papercut, is a print quota management system that works with iPrint to bring the College a feature called Follow-Me-Printing. Papercutwill help save money, reduce printer waste,and give you more options and control over when and where your jobs print.

Benefits of PaperCut

·  Reduces paper and toner waste

·  Allows a document to be printed on almost any NCC printer using your NCC ID

·  Allows printing from both personal and college owned computers

·  Eliminates the need to wait to use a busy printer

·  Continues to allow print credit management with ManageMyID—no need to learn a new system

Follow-Me-Printingallows print jobs to follow you around campus. Print to the Follow-Me-BW or Follow-Me-Color print queues, and then release the document at a printer on campuswhen you're ready. The Follow-Me queues are loaded on all lab computers across campus.Print jobs can be released atany student/public lab printer, in any building, using your NCC ID card.

Print instructions for Follow-Me-Printing

1.  Open the file that you would like to print.

2.  Go to File, then Print.

3.  Choose either Follow-Me-BW or Follow-Me-Color.

If you choose the color queue you can only release your job at a color printer.

4.  Click Print.

5.  Swipe your NCC ID card at the printer whereyou would like to retrieve the print job.

a.  If you are releasing your job at a cPad, press the Print All button, or select a print job and press the Print Selected Job button.

b.  If you are releasing your job at a fast-release station, all jobs will be released after you swipe your NCC ID.
