Easy and environmentally friendly sawing
The CS 2240 is Jonsered's new chainsaw model for the homeowner who is looking for a light saw for basic wood and forestry work. Compared to its predecessor, the new saw is easier to start, use and maintain. In addition it is fitted with Jonsered's environmentally friendly engine technology Clean Power.
When developing the new Jonsered CS 2240, every detail has been placed under close scrutiny with the aim of producing the lightest saw possible. By optimising everything from screw length to material thickness the weight has been cut down to 4.3 kilos excluding cutting equipment – without compromising durability or quality. The capacity cannot match Jonsered's professional models, but bearing in mind its low weight, the saw's performance is still impressive.
“Its light weight in combination with an ergonomic design makes the chainsaw very easy to work with,” says Niklas Bergquist, product specialist at Jonsered. “The CS 2240 is an effective tool for the enthusiastic homeowner who wants to prune his apple trees, cut wood or help the neighbour to fell a few trees in the garden.”
New smart functions
The Jonsered CS 2240 is fitted with several new functions making it easier to start, use and maintain the saw. It has a fuel pump that supplies fuel to the carburettor which means that less effort is required to get the machine started, even after a long break. Other technical innovations that facilitate for the user are the integrated start and stop control and a visible fuel level window. The sister model, the CS 2240 S is also fitted with Spin Start which reduces pull resistance in the starter cord by up to 40 percent.
Environmentally friendly engine
Jonsered's modern Clean Power engine technology offers raw power even at low revs. Despite this, emissions from the engine are up to 60 % lower and fuel consumption up to 20 % less compared to a conventional two-stroke engine of the same capacity.
“The Clean Power engines satisfy all the known emission regulations throughout the world,” explains Niklas Bergquist. “The user gets a more powerful chainsaw, cleaner air to breathe and does not need to fill up with fuel so often.”
Easy maintenance
The CS 2240 is easy to look after and clean. The Turbo technology in Jonsered's air purification system uses centrifugal force and separates up to 97 percent of all sawdust and other dust from the intake air. This means the air filter does not need cleaning as often as normal chainsaws.
In order to make the saw easier to maintain there is a handy snap lock on the cylinder cover. The CS 2240 also has a feature called tool-free chain tensioning. This means the chain is tensioned quickly and easily using a control on the side of the chainsaw. The same control is used when replacing the guide bar and chain.
