About Westwood Country Club

Established in 1954,Westwood Country Clubis conveniently located in Northern Virginia. We offer members and their guests a full range of dining and recreational facilities. Situated on 157 acres just minutes from Tysons Corner in Vienna, Westwood appeals to families and business people alike.
The focal points of the club are a beautiful 58,000 square foot club house, a newly renovated Gene Bates' designed premiere championship 18-hole golf course, 10 tennis courts, an Olympic-size swimming pool, fitness center and an updated pool/tennis clubhouse. Position: Director of Membership and Marketing

The Director of Membership and Marketing is responsible for achieving membership objectives as established by the Club. This includes developing and executing cost effective marketing programs aligned with Westwood Country Club’s strategy to increase both membership and event/catering sales as well as internal programs to increase member retention and satisfaction.

Job Tasks/Duties

Plans, creates and implements strategies to meet club membership goals while assisting with events/catering marketing initiatives.

Handles all membership related administration duties including, but not limited to: maintaining member files, conducting mailings, collecting promissory notes and other member documents, organizing monthly membership reports, etc.

Promotes club activities by creating table tents, newsletters, direct mail flyers, notices on club website and other means.

Plans, designs and implements prospective member functions.

Determines markets to be canvassed for qualified individuals and completes and maintains perpetual member invitee roster.

Assesses the need for and makes recommendations regarding membership classifications to help ensure that the needs of ever-changing markets are met.

Serves on applicable club committees to assure members’ interests are consistently addressed.

Follows-up on telemarketing efforts, member referrals, leads from staff, catering contracts, newspaper articles, lists, publications, etc.

Tracks the success and overall performance of all membership activities.

Coordinates all club public relations efforts, members’ newsletters, news and media events, use of social media, and club promotional materials.

Develops and adheres to a departmental budget; after approval, monitors and takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that budget goals are attained.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Hospitality Management preferred.

Experience designing, implementing and tracking marketing campaigns that have produced positive results

3-5 years applicable marketing, sales, and/or communications, in a Private Country Club and/or Hospitality industry.Other industry experience will be considered

Experience using Content Management Systems (Wordpress, Drupal, etc). and/orCountry Club software a plus.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Experience in a Country Club setting and JONAS software is preferred.

Ability to understand a vast array of different marketing techniques and implement strategies over a multiple channels (digital, direct mail, print, email marketing, etc.).

Must be comfortable developing marketing strategies and presenting pitches to large groups of people.

Ability to develop positive relationships with members and resolve conflicts in a quick and professional manner.

Ability to organize and prioritize assigned projects

Ability to promote, sell and build relationships.

Must be computer proficient.Knowledge of windows based programs such as Word, Excel, with strong internet, social media, and marketing skills.

Excellent interpersonal/communication and customer service skills not only to members but staff as well.
