OpenText Learning Services FAQ for ECD Partners

Recently OpenText issued a press releaseannouncing the completed acquisition of the Enterprise Content Division (ECD) of Dell EMC, including Documentum.With the closing, a number of products and solutions (referred to as the Documentum portfolio) become OpenText product offerings.

As a result of the acquisition, education services and certifications for the Documentum portfolio, formerly known as “EMC Proven Professional Certifications”, are now being administered by OpenText Learning Services.

  1. Where can I find the ECD course catalogue?

It continues to be available within myLearn ( Learning Paths are postedhere. The course schedule is available here.

2.Are previous ECD Documentum portfolio certifications still valid?

If you have successfully completed a Documentum portfolio certification after December 31, 2013, your certification is still valid. OpenText will provide such certified students with OpenText branded certification logos and diplomas in the first quarter of 2017.

To update an older certification or to achieve a new OpenText certification, more details can be found on myLearn.

The OpenText Global Partner Program requires OpenText Services partners to maintain staff certified on either current major product release, or current major release minus one.

Dell EMC Proven Professional Certifications relating to the Documentum portfolio (listed below) will no longer be available to view through Dell EMC’s CertTracker website. To ensure that your certification materials are updated and accurate, we ask that you no longer use or display the EMC Proven Professional logo.

If you hold other Dell EMC Proven Professional credentials for products that are not part of the Documentum portfolio, then you will still be able to access this information in the Dell EMC CertTracker system.

4.Are ECD Documentum portfolio certifications still available?

Yes. To eitherupdate an older certification or to achieve a new OpenText certification, please visit myLearn.

5.How are OpenText Certification exams administered?

OpenText Certification exams are administered online - exams will no longer be offered via Pearson VUE testing sites.

6.Will an unused ECD exam voucher be valid to used towards anOpenText Certification exam?

Yes. Please contact OpenText Learning Services () for further directions related to unused vouchers purchased prior to the acquisition.

  1. I was part way through completing my pre-requisite training for a certification before the acquisition. How do I proceed?

You can continue to access any existing training that you have registered for through myLearn. Available certification exams are listed in myLearn. If you haven’t yet registered for an exam, you can do so here.

  1. How do I register for ECD courses?

Step 1 – Log In or Obtain an account:

  1. From the main myLearn page, click the Login/Register link at the top of the page.
  2. On the Account Login screen, enter your Username and Password and click Log In. If you have an account, but have forgotten your password, click the Forgot Password link. The password resets are handled manually, so it may take up to two business days for your password to be reset.
  3. If you do not already have an account, click the appropriate link under the Create a New Account section. You will be asked to provide registration information for your account. Complete the form and follow the steps outlined in the Account registration process. If you are a customer or partner and your organization is already defined in the SSO system, your account should be created within 24 hours.
  4. If you are a new customer or partner, or are using an email address that cannot be directly linkedto a known customer or partner organization, you may be granted an account with light access. This process can take up to two business days.
  5. Your myLearn account details are tied to your email address. If you have training records that are associated with an email other than your SSO account email, they will not be visible. Contact an OpenText Learning Services registrar if you need to have your account details merged: .

Step 2 – select your course:

myLearn offers 24x7 quick and easy online registration for customers, and partners. It allows you to find the exact course you need by giving you the ability to search via course name, topic,delivery method and start date.

  1. Login by clicking on the Login/Register link on the upper right part of the page.
  2. If you are a returning user, enter your username and password.
  3. If you are a new user, see Step 1 “Log In or Obtain an account” above
  4. Once logged in, click on the Schedule link in the left navigation pane. Choose the class you’re interested in. Click on the Register link to the right of the course name and follow the directions to register.
  5. If paying by credit card, you will be asked to provide your credit card information. If you wish to pay by PO, you will not be confirmed until you email a copy of the PO: Americas (), Europe, the Middle East and Africa () or Asia Pacific () depending on the region your registering in.

  1. How do I register for ECD Certification exams?

View the Certification list in myLearn and click on the Register link beside the exam you’d like to complete.

  1. How can I update my EMC ECD Proven Professional certification(s) to OpenText?

  1. I’ve already purchased the Partner Enablement Value Package (PEVP) within the last year. The package is to be availablefor a one year period. How do I use this package?

Your content continues to be available in myLearn.

Moving forward, PEVP will be available to members of the OpenText Global Partner Program and the PEVP agreements will be set up with OpenText. For more information on the transition, the on-boarding site for ECD partners is here.

  1. As a partner, am I able to re-sell OpenText Learning Services?
