· JR presented September finance summary

6. Geelong Revival 2014 Sponsorship
· JR presented Geelong Revival’s application for support for financial and in-kind sponsorship
Discussion by Committee:
Good to see that feedback from last year regarding benefit of sponsorship has been considered and improved in 2014; other funding sources and sponsorships; link to special offers from businesses via app and promoted by Magic Meter Elves; good opportunity to align CGM with a large event; good to see increased activity throughout City with motorcade.
Recommendation:
To support this request from the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival 2014 with $5,000 cash plus in-kind support in excess of $10,000.
Moved: ME, seconded GA, all in favour
Action: Advise Revival Geelong organisers of Committee decision and implement sponsorship plan.
7. Christmas in Central Geelong
· JR provided an update on the Christmas in Central Geelong program
· Myer windows to be launched 14th November with the Magic Meter Elves at Gala Day on 15th November
· Magic Metre Elf interviews currently being held
· Snow globe to be feature in T&G building
· CGM has the ability to activate a series of vacant premises in Lt Malop St/McLarty Place for Christmas – looking to use the Made in Geelong model.
· Christmas Tree launch November 21st with the accompanying sound show available on the CGM smart phone app.
· Business Christmas window theming competition to be conducted by the Geelong Independent.
· CGM to distribute provided wreaths to businesses with information on window competition and Christmas trail maps will also be included within this distribution.
Action: JR to invite Bill Votsaris to next CGMC meeting
8. Support Small Business Day Evaluation
· JR presented SSBD evaluation
· A total of 56 Central Geelong businesses signed up
· Feedback sent to SSBD organisers regarding the process for signing up and activating eftpos terminals for the day which proved difficult for some businesses.
· Short films were terrific and very well received
· Grant acquittal being sent to Stave Government
9. Sidewalk Sales 2014
· 220 businesses registered, up from 180 in 2013
· 50% of advertising is being done outside Geelong region, radio ad’s & regional TV – 7Prime, Southern Cross Ten and Win
· Little Malop Central activated with performances by Imogen Brough, Sweethearts, Pamper Marquee, Garden Party, Pivot stove & heating trailer and mobile carts being occupied by Pistol Pete’s Food & Blues, Cocoa Tree Café, and Mitre 10
· Committee members are encouraged to attend.
