SustainableOptions.com, Sherman Oaks, CA. 01/05- Present. Quality Assurance & Renewable Energy Consulting. Under contract, I provide Auditor Services to the National Biodiesel Accreditation Commission. I conduct quality compliance audits of biodiesel manufacturing and marketing facilities in the United States and Canada seeking accreditation under the BQ-9000 program. I am responsible for performing desk audits of the quality assurance program, on-site accreditation audits of facilities and surveillance audits for continued compliance. Additionally under contract I provide instruction in BQ-9000 implementation at regional locations.

Other consulting services provided include developing biodiesel quality assurance programs, implementing biodiesel marketing operations, and provide training in biodiesel handling and quality assurance. Successfully transitioned the 2007 Virgin Music Festival in Baltimore to using B99 Biodiesel, the first use at an event of this size. Co-Founded the Los Angeles Biodiesel Coop, biodiesel-coop.org and Founded and Operate the Southern California Biodiesel Users Group,a 501c3, socalbug.org, which has over 4,000 members.

Channel Islands National Park, Ventura, California, 08/89 to Present. Crane Operator Supervisor, WS-11

I serve as the Maintenance Supervisor for Channel Islands National Park consisting of park headquarters and Anacapa, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa and San Miguel Islands (Total land acreage 124,102).

I supervise a workforce of mixed trades involved in the construction, maintenance and restoration of facilities, equipment and services. I manage project budgets, recruit, hire, counsel and evaluate employees in performing administrative functions. Additional duties include serving as the parks accessibility coordinator, confined space program manager and energy coordinator. I also work closely with park cooperators to include the US Navy, Nature Conservancy, and the University of California.

I am actively involved in the implementation of renewable energy and sustainable programs at the park level. I’ve worked with the NPS environmental leadership council and the Department of the Interior Renewable Working Group and managed the NPS Green Energy and Environmental Leadership web site. I have been name requested to travel to international park areas to serve as a technical specialist in sustainable practices. Served as working leader of a crew of mixed trades involved in marine construction, renewable energy project implementation, building, facility, equipment, roads and trails maintenance. Work involved great logistic planning and implementation as project sites ranged from 14 to 60 miles offshore. Additional duties as park diver.
