As we start our breakdown of the MDS with Section A and the items related to the type of assessment to be completed is critical for survey and appropriate reimbursement. Whether a rookie to the process or an experienced MDS nurse, the MDS 3.0 items in A0310 with the multiple revisions and updates have created confusion and frustration about what assessment to do and when. In this session we will complete a brief view of the key resident identification items and then shift to identifying the types of assessments required for both OBRA and PPS and the timing for completion and submission.
