EDF 7216 EDUCATIONAL PLANNING AND POLICY ANALYSIS

Course Description:

The course focuses on modern approaches to education policy analysis and planning, medium term expenditure frameworks (MTEF) and the financing of education expenditure to achieve national and localized human resource development objectives. The course offers a range of practice-oriented information drawn from lessons learnt in concrete contexts.

Course Objectives:

This course should enable students to:

• Discuss implementation of education sector policies in national contexts
• Evaluate the progress in the execution of the education sector policies in international contexts, especially as they relate to the implementation of Education for All (EFA), Fast Track Initiatives (FTIs) and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs); and
• Apply modern planning techniques and modern planning and expenditure frameworks in country contexts;
