Welcome! To all who need a new start in life, to all who need a new inspiration, to all who need a new challenge, this church opens wide its doors, and in the name of Him who said, “Behold, I make all things new,” we bid you welcome! The mission of College Hill Moravian Church is “to learn, share, live Christ’s love!” If you are visiting for the first time we are glad you have chosen to join us. A sheet with visitor

information (purple) is available in the Narthex (front door) as well as a special visitor gift pack. If you are visiting for the first time and you or someone with you has not yet received a visitor gift pack or information sheet, please see the Elder on Duty (the person greeting by either door with the yellow name tag).

NURSERY: Small children are a beloved part of our church family and are welcome to remain in worship. However, if parents desire, the nursery space on the lower level is also available for parent’s use today. Ushers can provide directions to the nursery.

Sunday School for Children is offered at College Hill Moravian Church during the latter part of the worship service. Two opportunities are available: a Pre-Kindergarten class and a Kindergarten through 7th grade class. Children begin the worship service in the church Sanctuary (the two front left pews are reserved for children, or children may remain seated with their families). Following the children’s blessing and sending, children attending Sunday School will be escorted to the lower level for children’s programming. Following worship, parents of pre-k children may pick them up in the church nursery; older children and youth will be escorted to Fellowship Hall.

WE CELEBRATE HOLY COMMUNION

We invite anyone who loves the Lord Jesus Christ, who claims Him as Personal Savior and Lord and who seeks to follow Him in the fellowship of the Christian Church to join with us at the Lord’s Table. When the pew in which you are seated is about to be served, please stand if you would like to receive the elements. After everyone has received the elements we will partake together, symbolizing our unity in the Lord.

In the Moravian Church, children are invited to participate in the sacrament of Holy Communion following the Rite of Confirmation or after receiving Early Communion Instruction. Parents interested in arranging Early Communion Instruction for their children should contact the Pastor.

Anyone requiring a gluten-free rice cracker for communion please ask to speak with an Usher or Sacristan prior to the serving of the elements.

Joyful Noise Offering will be collected next Sunday.

COLLEGE HILL SPRING CLEANING DAY has been re-scheduled for Saturday, June 11, 9AM-Noon. Come help us spruce up the Church building and grounds on our annual Spring Cleaning Day. Tasks include: cleaning windows and window wells, Sprucing up the Sanctuary, trimming hedges and general cleaning. Look on the White table (in the Fellowship Hall) for the sign-up sheet.

Praying for those who Serve…As a regular part of our church prayer list, we include the names of members and friends who serve our country on active duty at home and abroad. Throughout the month of May, we would invite everyone’s help in reviewing and updating the current list which will be available on the white table in Fellowship Hall, and updates can also be directed to the church office (610-867-8291, ). Names presently on the list include: Isabelle Krause, Jeff Krause, Vicky Krause, Shaun McCurdy, Tucker Shosh, and Brandon Stoltz; please don’t hesitate to add the names of others who serve. And let us continue to uphold those who serve in our prayers.

MOUNTAINVIEW MORAVIAN CHURCH CLOTHING COLLECTION

Do you want to help provide clothing for families in need and clean out your closets as well? During the month of May, College Hill will be collecting clothing for Mountainview Moravian for their upcoming clothing distribution. All clothing must be gently used and clean and laundered; asking for warm and cool weather clothing and shoes for all ages (infant through adult) for both males and females. If you have clothing to contribute, please place your items in the light green bin in Fellowship Hall no later than Sunday, May 29.

SUMMER WORSHIP SEATING

It has been established that when worshipers are seated in near proximity to one another, this 1) increases the sense of community with other worshipers and visitors, and 2) enhances congregational singing. With this in mind, our Board of Elders has elected to resume the practice of encouraging those participating in summer worship to sit closer to the front and to each other. Specifically:

During Summer Sundays (Memorial Day through Labor Day) the rear-most pews will again be roped off, thus better adjusting our worship seating space toward the recommended size for our typical summer worship attendance. Should additional seating be needed, the Elder on Duty will be responsible for opening additional pews.

All worshipers are invited and encouraged to shift their summer seating closer to the front. Do you have a ‘favorite seat’? Over the summer, the Elders would encourage you to adjust that seat forward a few pews.

The Elders would like to offer a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to everyone in advance for your cooperation—even as God called Abraham and Sarah to move from familiar surroundings as a step of faith, this summer may we each take this small step ‘out of our comfort zones’ as an act of worship.

CONFIRMATION IS COMING!

The Confirmation Process is an opportunity for youth entering the 7th or 8th grades or older to learn more about the foundations of the Christian faith and what it means to follow Jesus. Confirmation culminates with the option for those who have completed the confirmation process and feel ready to make a profession of faith to enter the adult membership of the congregation.

A special meeting for parents of all unconfirmed youth currently in 6th -8th grades will take place after worship on Sunday, June 19. If you are the parent of a 6th-8th grader and have not yet been contacted about confirmation, please communicate your interest to the Church Office as soon as possible (610-867-8291, ).

CAMP HOPE

2016 SUMMER CAMPS AT CAMP HOPE! Hope Conference and Renewal Center (“Camp Hope”), located in Hope, NJ, offers Christian summer camping experiences for children and youth from 1st grade to post-high. These include grade-level-based camps, and specialty camps (Fishing, Swimming, etc). Program information is available on the magazine rack next to the sign-up table in Fellowship Hall, from the church office, or can be found at www.hopecenter.org.

All youth and children from College Hill attending camp at Camp Hope are eligible for camperships to assist with camp tuition. For 2015, College Hill will cover half of the listed cost of tuition for one camp. Additionally, the Bethlehem Area Moravians offer a further $100 in campership assistance to each camper (so a camper attending a week-long conference with tuition cost of $340 would receive $270 in Campership assistance!). To receive this assistance, when registering for camp, simply indicate that the camper is a member of College Hill and you will receive tuition credit automatically. There are discounts for registering before May 15. And read on for campership benefits for friends you bring to camp!

If additional financial support is required to enable a young person to attend camp, please contact Pastor Dave. We want to do everything possible to allow each of our children and young adults to experience camp!

CAMPERSHIPS FOR YOUR FRIENDS! As a form of outreach, College Hill and the Bethlehem Area Moravians offers the campership benefit to friends of College Hill children and youth who attend camp.

Any non-Moravian child or youth who attends a camp or conference at Camp Hope with a College Hill child or youth is now also eligible for the campership benefit (half of the cost of tuition from College Hill, $100 BAM). To receive this assistance, when registering for camp, your non-Moravian friends should place a roommate request with the friend from College Hill they are attending camp with, and they may then claim half tuition on the registration form for “church” (please write-in "College Hill" on this line) and $100 from BAM.

Starting in 2015, the Board of Elders has extended this benefit to up to two (2) non-Moravian friends attending camp with a College Hill camper. Just another reason to invite some friends to join you at camp!
