Women with a Vision Scholarship
SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES
Established as a renewable scholarship program for single moms who intend to pursue an education that will empower them to attain employment that produces family sustaining wages. The scholarship award may be used for tuition, fees and equipment required for course work.
ELIGIBILITY:
- Applicants must have completed at least 12 credits of post-secondary education and must be pursuing completion in one of the following programs:
· Blackhawk Technical College: IT – Web Analyst/Programmer, Fire Science, Medical Lab Technician, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiography, Health Science Associate Degree, Diagnostic Medical Sonography & Vascular, Nursing, Industrial Engineering Technician, Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement Academy, Welding, Licensed Practical Nursing, CNC Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Automated Systems/Electro-Mechanical
- Applicants must be single mothers with demonstrated financial need (i.e. FAFSA, Rock County Dept. of Human Services income verification form, IRS income tax return).
- Applicants must be motivated to complete their chosen course of education.
- Applicants must be able to maintain a GPA of at least 2.75 and at least 12 credits per semester.
- Applicants must be legal US residents and willing to live or work in Rock County for three years after college graduation.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: (Incomplete applications will not be considered)
1. Complete the application form.
2. Attach your college transcripts.
3. Attach two letters of recommendation from adults other than relatives (e.g. instructor, employer, supervisor).
4. Attach a one page essay not exceeding 400 words answering the question: Why are you deserving of this scholarship?
