Conference Theme:
There are 4 allegations per 100 children in foster care across the UK each year (Wade et al (2014)). Up to 25% of these allegations are confirmed as abuse or neglect, 43% are unsubstantiated and a further 25% are unfounded.
This conference will explore current practice in investigations and the prevalence of safeguarding issues for children in care, alongside a consideration of the impact that allegations can have on both children and young people in foster care, and their caregivers.
