Shops, cafes and businesses in Bath are being encouraged to sign up for a new Safe Places scheme designed to reassure vulnerable members of the public.
Avon and Somerset Police has joined up with local councils and voluntary organisations to launch the initiative to provide people with recognisable safe places for them to seek advice, reassurance and help.
They say it will help people with learning difficulties get out and about in their community but with the reassurance that there is help available should they need to deal with difficult situations.
This could be anything from getting lost, losing a mobile phone or feeling harassed or bullied.
Businesses can register with the scheme and display a Safe Place logo in their window so they can be easily identified.
