Building Character for a Successful Future

You have had a chance to discuss many different character traits in your groups. We are going to focus on five in particular: being Responsible, Dependable, Punctual, Cooperative, and Trustworthy. Your task now is to think about applying your understanding to your daily life. Respond to each of the following character trait sections on a separate piece of paper. (You should be handing in five sheets of paper). Think about the best way to represent your responses. Questions should be answered in complete sentences. Some of the information should be presented in neat and organized charts. Marks are indicated beside each question or task and total marks for each section are indicated by the section title. This homework assignment is due: Friday, November 18.

1.)What does it mean to be responsible for yourself? (3 marks)

2.)Volunteer to take on one household responsibility for at least one week. Explain what you had to do to complete the task; how you felt once you completed the task and what, if any, inconveniences (like missed activities) the task posed for you. (5 marks)

1.)Can your parents and friends depend on you? Use specific examples. (2 marks)

2.)For a 24-hour period, keep track of all the people and events you are depending on. Record the information on a piece of paper. (2 marks)

1.)What are some strategies or tools you can use to ensure that you are punctual?

2.)Record all time commitments for one week (school arrival, lesson arrival, game times, doctor appointments, pick-up times, homework deadlines etc.). Record the time you should have been there and also the time you were ACTUALLY there. (3 marks)
