Course Goals:
- Students will continue to develop their artwork and studio
practices.
- Students should gain what they can from my personal experiences
being a professional artist.
- Students will expand their motivations and methodologies for
creating work. Students will be exposed to different ways of
working.
- Students will gain practice speaking about and critiquing art.
Assignments:
- In this course students will have group and individual critiques.
- There will be several guest lectures and field trips planned. We will visit artist studios and inspirational cites in the Los Angeles area.
- Students will be asked to give short in class presentations – likes and dislikes project.
- Students will have one cumulative art project that will be displayed and critiqued at the end of the semester.
- Students will design, curate, and exhibit a show of their work. The show will be critiqued on the day of the class final.
Grading:
Grades will be determined by:
(part 1)
attendance – after 3 absences your final grade will be lowered by half a letter grade. students’ participation and engagement in critiques and discussions.
(part 2)
completion and development of studio work, willingness and effort put into presentations , cumulative art project and final exhibition.

Feb 1 – Secretive cumulative art project proposals due.
Secretive cumulative art projects begin.
