In the Development of TERO Compliance Plan

The Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO), Chapter 4, Section 502 (d), requires each covered employer or entity to submit to an acceptable compliance plan indicating how the covered employer or entity will comply with the Ordinance before commencing work. No covered entity may commence work on the reservation until it has met with the TERO and developed an acceptable plan for the implementation of its obligations under this law.

The Tribal Worker Protection Ordinance (WPO) is in effect which governs workers, employers and labor organizations to ensure a safe work environment, free of employment discrimination, protecting health a safety and providing for fair wages and benefits. The TERO Commission passed this as a minimum safety standard on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation for contractors, service providers, working consistent with statutes outlined in Chapter 7 of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Worker Protection Ordinance. This minimum standard is from here forth required for all staff and employees of contractors, subcontractors, and service people working within the exterior boundaries under TERO Compliance Plans as well as for tribal departments and tribal entities, i.e., Gaming, Enterprise, Contractors, Service Providers, on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation as well as those contractors, subcontractors, or service providers working off reservation on projects for the tribes to enhance and strengthen our treaty rights.
