Dear Kindergarten Families,
Welcome to the Robert Benjamin Wiley Community Charter School, it is a wonderful place to be! I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Miss Behn, and I am honored and delighted to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher. It is a big step in both your and your child’s lives, and I look forward to working with you both. This will be my sixth year working at the Robert Benjamin Wiley Community Charter School, and will be my fourth year teaching Kindergarten. I attended college at Penn State Erie, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. I then went on to earn my teaching certification to teach Kindergarten through Sixth Grade, and also received my Master’s Degree in Special Education from Mercyhurst University.
I believe that communication between parents and teachers is essential in helping your child learn and grow. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can send me a note with your child, email me at , or call me at 461-9600 ext. 205. I will also keep in contact with you by updating my teacher page on our school website, and sending home handouts and information that will help keep you updated with what is going on at school. Class Dojo will also be integrated into our classroom. Please keep a look out for the forms to join!
Every day your child will come home with his/her Take Home Folder. Please be sure that you view the folder each and every day. It will almost always contain important announcements, homework assignments, or completed work. Please then be sure that the folder gets back to school each day.
Kindergarten is so fortunate to take part in specials as a part of the daily curriculum. The schedule is as follows:
Monday: Computer Lab
Tuesday: Physical Education
Wednesday: Music
Thursday: Art
Friday: Computer (1st Q), Physical Education (2nd Q), Music(3rd Q), Art(4th Q)
This is the beginning of what is sure to be a wonderful and exciting school year that I very much look forward to, and hope you do too!
Sincerely,
Ms. Ashley Behn
