DEEP RIVER SCHOOL MISSION PROJECT
Each year our church family assists students in need at Deep River School who might not be able to afford school supplies by donating pens, wide-ruled paper, notebooks, book bags, etc. to the school. A box is in the small kitchen where we ask that you leave school supplies for these students. We will collect donations until August 24. Thank you for caring and sharing.
We would like to thank all of those who helped with the teacher’s luncheon on August 19th.
BIBLICAL RECORDER SUBSCRIPTIONS
It’s that time of year again when the church renews the complimentary subscriptions to the Biblical Recorder for those members who wish to get the publication. If you would like to add your name to or delete your name from the subscription list, contact the church office. If you are currently on the subscription list and your address has changed, you need to contact the church office. The notification deadline is September 7th.

How To Do the Impossible
I Samuel 17: 41-50
INTRODUCTION
Have you ever faced a very difficult situation? Every week in our church family, someone is facing tough circumstances at home, at work, or in the community. We sometimes call these circumstances “giants”. Let’s learn from young David how to face the impossible with our faith.
I. It is not what is in our hand that matters but who’s Hand we are
in during impossible situations!
a. David, who has never faced a person in battle, let alone a giant, comes to the battle ill prepared by earthly standards.
b. In reality, he is perfectly equipped because he understands God is with him.
II. It is not the size of the foe when facing the impossible; it is the
size of our faith!
a. Someone has said “Some would say Goliath was too big to hit but David saw him as to big to miss!”
b. David’s faith was bigger than his problem.
III. It is not about what we can do, but about what God can do
through us while we ar facing the impossible!
a. David, unlike the rest of the Army of Israel, saw this as an opportunity to allow God to fight the battle.
b. Without a sword, any battle experience, any chance of victory, David kills Goliath.
c. What does God need to do within our life right now?
CONCLUSION
To do the impossible is more about changing us than it is the circumstances. To bravely stand before the “giants” in our lives with total dependence upon God is David-like, then God will see us through the impossible situations in our lives.
