AP ANNUAL CONFERENCE – ORLANDO, FL JULY 18 -22 2012
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR TEACHERS
The Observatory of Italian Language and the College Board’s Advanced Placement Program® are pleased to announce financial assistance to participate at the AP Annual Conference in Orlando, FL, July 18-22nd 2012.
About the Convention
The AP Annual Conference is the largest professional development gathering of the Advanced Placement Program® and Pre-AP® communities, AP Coordinators, school counselors and administrators from across the United States and throughout the world. This year's conference promises to engage, inspire and promote innovation in our schools. The session offerings for AP Italian Language and Culture include:
§ Introducing the Revised AP Italian Language and Culture Course
§ Introducing the Revised AP Italian Language and Culture Exam
§ A Thematic Approach for AP Italian: Beauty and Aesthetics
§ A Thematic Approach for AP Italian: Personal and Public Identities
§ Designing an “A+” Syllabus for AP Italian Language and Culture
§ Incorporating Technology and Web Resources in AP Italian Classroom

Application Process
This is a two-step application process.
1. Interested parties should fill out the following form (see below) by June 15th 2012.
Accepted parties will be notified by June 19th .
2. Once acceptance communication is received, a registration form for the main conference must be filled out. Registration information and form found here:

The total for the main conference is $410. Please see below for reimbursement procedures for conference fees.
***Only once the Embassy received your confirmation # will a hotel reservation be placed for you. Deadline to register is Friday, June 22nd.***
Financial Assistance Information
The following conference-related costs will be covered:
· room and board at the Swan and Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, Florida

· conference registration in the form of reimbursement (only provided if all AP Italian sessions are attended)
***Please note flights will not be covered – please make your own travel arrangements.
Applicant Qualifications
Up to 15 stipends will be awarded on a rolling basis, preferably to teachers of Italian in a middle or secondary school.
Deadline for registration step one is Friday, June 15th, 2012.
