INTERNATIONAL BOOK DAY (2ndAPRIL)

International book day is celebrated every 2nd April, inspiring children to pick up a book and start reading.

It is the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, the author of many famous children’s stories like ‘The Ugly Duckling’. Stories play a vital role in children’s growth and development. Also good reading skill help children to improve language, learn good values and to build up their confidence.

Following activities have been planned for classes I & II :-

WORLD HEALTH DAY( 7th APRIL)

“Health is wealth”. To make children health conscious the following activities havebeen planned for classes I and II:-

  • They will bring cutouts of healthy/unhealthy food items and will make collage in E.V.S. notebook.
  • They will bring nutritious food in their lunch box and will speak 3-4 lines about it.

HANS RAJ DAY (19th APRIL)

Mahatma Hans Raj is the father of D.A.V movement. He was the first head master of the first D.A.V Institution namely D.A.V high school, Lahore. He was born on 19th April 1864. He was a selfless worker. He worked all his life without taking any salary.

Following activities have been plannedfor classes I and II:-

Paste the pictures of Mahatma Hans Raj in E.V.S note book and the students will write few lines about him in the class.

EARTH DAY (22nd APRIL)

We owe our existence to earth. Earth represents life. Due to our carelessness and selfish interests we have damaged it to a great extent. Time has come to take care of our mother to give back its glory: –

  • Students will bring sketch pens and they will colour the given sheet.
  • They will bring empty bottle( cut it half and cover it with coloured paper),decorative material like mirrors, small artificial flowers etc. fevicol.

Later these table mats will be sent home for lamination and this will be used daily as table mat in classroom for fruit and lunch break
