The Prince Albert 2014 Saskatchewan Winter Games organizing committee is pleased to announce Cameco Corp. as a major sponsor for the Games in February 2014.
“We are very pleased to welcome Camecoas a major sponsor for the Saskatchewan Winter Games,” said Al Dyer, chair of organizing committee.”The Games are where many of Saskatchewan’s best young athletes will be competing in their first multi-sport games. It is about developing young athletes, and providing them with an experience they will always remember.”
Cameco’s sponsorship of $20,000 is to support the athlete experience at the Games. One of the most important aspects in planning for the Games is providing quality, healthy nutrition for the athletes as they prepare to compete. Cameco is the presenting sponsor of 2 separate athlete meals.
“Cameco wants to make a difference in our community. Partnering with the Saskatchewan Winter Games is a great fit because our staff volunteers will be able to roll-up their sleeves to help serve food to the athletes,” said Jonathan Huntington, Cameco’s Manager of Communications & Community Investment
Cameco volunteers will help serve these meals to all athletes on two occasions.
Dyer said Cameco’ssponsorship is an important contribution to the $1.5 million budget for the Games. The 2014 Saskatchewan Winter Games will be held in Prince Albert from February 16 to 22, 2014. Approximately 2,000 athletes, coaches and officials will be participating in the event.
