Job title: Trainer

Location: National Centre for Personal Safety, 218 Strand, London, WC2R 1AT

Full/part time: Full time

Reports to: Social Enterprise Manager

Part of: The social enterprise team

Purpose of job: To deliver training and consultancy to Trust clients and to generate new and repeat business

Salary range: £26,000 – 29,000

Duties and accountabilities

Deliver personal safety training, talks and consultancy

·  Design and deliver Suzy Lamplugh Trust personal safety training courses to Trust clients

·  Deliver Suzy Lamplugh Trust personal safety awareness talks to Trust clients …

·  Provide consultancy to Trust clients

·  Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients

·  Administer own training bookings and support social enterprise colleagues with the administration of other courses when appropriate

·  Prepare evaluation reports on all training provided by the Trust

·  Assist clients who contact the Trust by telephone and email to decide the best training or consultancy solutions for them

Promoting the Trust

·  Provide advice to members of the public who contact the Trust concerning personal safety issues

·  Deliver or co-deliver with colleague/s presentations to potential or existing clients and at events such as exhibitions and events

General

·  Be an ambassador for the Suzy Lamplugh Trust

·  Be responsible for own administration

·  Answer telephone calls, recognising the importance of the first contact a client has with the Trust

·  Work with other staff to maintain an efficiently-run computer system, monitoring and reporting all faults as appropriate

·  Work within the Suzy Lamplugh Trust’s policies and procedures at all times

·  Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Social Enterprise Manager

Person specification

Skills, knowledge and experience

·  At least one year experience in design and delivery of training

·  Ability to write clear learning objectives and outcomes for training sessions

·  Knowledge of different learning styles and how this impacts on delivery style

·  Ability to speak in public with confidence and appropriate use of humour

·  Excellent organisational skills

·  Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·  Ability to organise small and large events

·  Ability to present complex ideas concisely and clearly

·  Ability to speak and write clearly in English

·  Ability to proof read documents – excellent attention to detail

·  Ability to manage own time and prioritise workload

·  Ability to use own initiative

·  Excellent communication skills – good knowledge of body language

·  Ability to work outside office hours as reasonably required

·  Willing to travel around the UK

IT Skills

·  Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

·  Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 would be an advantage
