Agreement on Mentoring
Global Management and Manufacturing (GMM) Students

Aarhus University, Business and Social Science(AU Herning)
and

The Mentor Company
and
______
Student
Hereafter referred to as The Parties.
§1 Purpose:
The purpose of this agreement is to outline the framework for the student mentor arrangement between the parties.
§ 2 Scope:
The scope of this agreement is to outline the terms and conditions for the whole mentoring period as specified in §3 for the above mentioned student.
§3 Period of Mentoring:
- The GMM program has a total study period of 3 ½ years, which is divided into 7 semesters (6 months/semester).
The mentoring period will be as follows:
3rd semester Project 1 (Fall)approx. 7-8 weeks
4th semester Project 2 (Spring)approx. 7-8 weeks
5th semester Project 3 (Fall) approx. 7-8 weeks
6th semester Internship (Spring)full semester (20 wks)
7th semester Dissertation Project (Fall) approx. 16 weeks
- Prior to each mentoring period, a project/problem formulation will be written up for mutual agreement between the parties.
- Project/problem formulation should fall within the following framework:
3rd semester: Organization, Quality and Environmental Management
4thsemester: Purchasing and related topics
5th semester: Global Production
6th semester: Internship, to be agreed upon between the parties
7th semester: Dissertation Project, to be agreed upon between the
parties
§4 Costs Related to the Mentor Projects 3rd semester):
The Mentor Company agrees to cover students’ additional costs such as but not limited to:
Additional student transportation costs, report printing costs and out of pocket expenses up to a maximum of DKK 5,000.00 per project period. In cases of extraordinary requirements to travel and lodging, etc a separate budget must be agreed upon between the Mentor Company and the student.
In all circumstances, the student must submit proper documentation for expenses in accordance to the Mentor Company’s regulations and requirements.
§7 Termination:
This agreement can be terminated by either party with one month’s written notice.
In case of major neglects of either party’s obligations or unforeseen circumstances, such as but not limited to illness, absence, serious breach of the normal rules for good conduct, change in business circumstances, the aggrieved party can terminate this agreement immediately. Any termination should be made in writing with reasons to the other parties.
§8 Confidentiality:
The student must show strict confidentiality in connection with any knowledge obtained from the Mentor Company, directly or indirectly during the mentor periods. The observance of confidentiality remains an obligation also after termination of the mentor period. A confidentiality agreement between the Mentor Company and the student as per Mentor Company policy and standards can be separately signed.
§9 Contact Persons:
Each party shall appoint a supervisor and a backup for the entire mentoring period. For each project (ref. Agreement on Company Related Projects) the parties shall further appoint a project supervisor and backup.
The project supervisor(s) must as a minimum have a degree on bachelor level as per directions from the Danish Ministry of Education.
