Greek Research Paper

In our study of The Odyssey, we will be encountering a lot of unfamiliar Greek people, places, and things. Therefore, we will all be pitching in to learn more about the list of topics.

Your topic is ______. Most of the topics may be easily found in an encyclopedia or general reference book. If you have difficulty, ask me for direction in your search. You may not use Wikipedia or answers.com or ask.com. You must use official/legitimate sources.

Book with One Author

The author’s name or a book with a single author's name appears in last name, first name format. The basic form for a book citation is:

Book with More Than One Author

The first given name appears in last name, first name format; subsequent author names appear in first name last name format.

A Work in an Anthology, Reference (Encyclopedia), or Collection

Works may include an essay in an edited collection or anthology, or a chapter of a book. The basic form is for this sort of citation is as follows:

  • Website (if you used a website) – I need to be able to type in the web address you provide me and be linked directly to your source of information. Google.com and the like are not acceptable. Remember, Wikipedia is not an acceptable source.

Type your report - SINGLE SPACED, size 12 font Times New Roman. It should be a half-page in length —one paragraph at least 9 sentences. Be sure to cite your source(s) at the end of the paragraph. Then, be sure to include a small, colorful illustration at the BOTTOM of the page (not on the back, not attached to the document). Use computer generated illustration (colorful).

I will be checking for amount of information, well-expressed and accurate writing, correctness of bibliography information, and neatness of presentation.

Typed reports (quiz grade) are due on Wednesday, January10. Print two copies of the report. As we reach the point in The Odyssey that pertains to your report, you will present your information to the class so they can take notes on it for a quiz to be given near the end of the unit.
