CONCEPT
IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY is a nostalgic journey back to the golden age of live radio. The script is based upon the classic Joe Capra film IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE. All of the memorable characters from the film are portrayed in this radio version. But this production is an event somewhat different from seeing the film. The cast includes a live foley artist creating sound effects for the story. The production will warm up the audience with some carols, and the story is interrupted for commercial breaks with sung jingles. A live pianist will provide underscoring and transitional music. And the show is performed as if it were being broadcast live to homes across the country. This production is a special holiday gift to our audiences.
CAST SIZE
Cast size is variable. The show can be performed with as few as 5 actors and as many as 25
Anticipated cast size is 8 women and 12 men

Included in the over 50 characters are:
FREDDIE FILMORE (the radio announcer)
GEORGE BAILEY (the hero of the story, immortalized by Jimmy Stewart)

JOSEPH (the superintendent of angels and narrator of much of the story)
