Uniform proposal

Opportunity with Lands End to start pilot

They will put the website/ordering information up for free; no administrative cost burden to the school. Preferred school spot, we’d be listed on a menu under ‘preferred schools’. All of the items that we include in our uniform options are presented there with sale prices listed. Can use scrip for purchases and they give 6% of revenue back to the school every February. Considering how that reimbursement could be used for students on scholarship. We don’t want uniforms to be an extra financial burden on families. We want to message to families that Lands End is working with us to make sure that it’s as cost effective as possible for families to be able to afford uniforms.

Ideas:

  • Have a buyback program to buy back gently used clothing for resale.
  • Would be nice to have the pilot up and running for the holiday shopping season.
  • It’s a very quick start up for Lands End (~2 weeks) to get up and running.
  • Launch during catholic schools week?
  • Fashion show during catholic schools week?
  • Grandparents Day?
  • What if we ask the scholarship kids start to pilot so they get a free uniform right off the bat

Messaging to classrooms: consideration of piloting uniforms to determine acceptance of potentially moving to uniforms in the future for IHM.

Motion to pilot the uniforms – Mrs. Bartsch recommends

Amy will reach out to the Lands End rep to start the website and then SAC members will provide feedback on the website/ordering process.

New business items –

None

Pastor’s Report - none

Principal’s Report – Walk-a-thon this week; school service project in November will be penny wars for the wounded warriors. Technology wise – working on firewall right now

1st grade parent question: 1st & 2nd grade had Schuster’s pumpkin farm on Oct 28th. Don’t know yet if that’s occurring. Schuster’s is going to get to back to us as to whether that date will work.

Surplus of HSA funds – what ideas can we put forth to utilize the additional funds?

Ideas: world language promotion heavily discussed. Supports goals of the administration
