Of Mouse and Men: Perceiving-Acting Systems - Web Course Feedback Adopting

Socio-Linguistic and System-Thinking Technology. – A study of feedback representation in writing between teacher and students and the adaptation of technology to provide more natural interaction of criticism and intended improvement through vocal download formats in natural student environments. Abstract submitted to CCCC Convention, April, 2008, New Orleans.

I Gotta Write What? Early Pre-Write in Motion (Handbook, 30 pages, estimated.) Termed as the EPIM, this pre-write strategy concept map and associated “paper blueprint” that I created allows students to pre-determine several aspects of college assignments prior to writing the overall paper through a series of elimination and identification procedures. Beta-tested within a developmental composition and an advanced argument course, the EPIM assists students in identifying particular approaches to defined topical styles regardless of academic field designation. Positive responses were indicated within the original beta-test as a pre-write form of organization. The EPIM will be marketed as a supplement to existing general composition texts. The EPIM may serve as an initial guidance system to student writing productivity by categorizing topics within three primary writing-structural types and outlining the necessary techniques to each category. “Fetching the Pail of Politics: Jack and Jill and 16th Century Russian Muscovite Religious Disputes.” This work offers the contention that the nursery rhyme of “Jack and Jill” may have had its origins in 16th century Russian muscovite religious wars through Avvakum’s statement of “The Jack priests with their Jills following after” – submitted to The Lion and the Unicorn – (children’s literature academic journal), slated for submission, March, 2008.
