8.1Notice of Motion from Cllr. Ronan McKenna
“Trim Town Council calls on the Minister for the Environment and Local Government Phil Hogan TD to engage in meaningful discussions with “Employers for Affordable Rates” to change the legislation regarding rates and allow Town and County Councils to fund their budget expenses but still ease the burden on local businesses who are struggling for survival“.

“For Trim Town Council to begin the process to amend the Record of Protected Structures to include the Old Rectory Wall at St. Loman’s Street and surrounding areas”.

The Elected Members of TrimTown Council request the Trim Area Members of MeathCounty Council to restore the 60mph and or the 100km maximum speed limit on the following Regional Roads:
- The Trim to Navan R161 Regional Road,
- The Trim to DublinR154 Regional Road, and
- The Trim to Summerhill/Kilcock R158 Regional Road,
which was the maximum speed limits on these Regional Roads before substantial millions of Euro of taxpayer’s money was spent upgrading these roads to the excellent safe standards they are in today, and thereafter to ask the Authorities responsible, to strictly enforce the 60mph and or 100 km maximum safe driving speed limits on these Regional Roads.
