Introduction:-
Random survey of 4015 faecal samples was studied from April 2000 to June 2002 in the milk shed area of Dudhsagar Dairy. It revealed 16.09% prevalence of Nematode infection in Dairy cattle. Then after strategic mass deworming programme was conducted by the dairy from July 2002 to June 2005. Mobile Laboratory of Dudhsagar dairy has screened 7620 faecal samples during this period. From this strategic treatment on mass scale it is observed that the infection of Nematode are brought down from 16.09% to below 3%. Then onward regular mass deworming programme is being conducted from the year 2005 to 2011 in the milk shed area using fenbendazole in specially prepared cattle feed and distributed to village dairy co-operative during July to August every year.
Objective:-
The purpose of this paper is to study prevalence of Nematode infection in dairy animal even after mass deworming programme.
Location:-
For this study 25 villages were randomly selected around D.S.Laboratory, Vihar, Ta: Mansa, Dist:
Mehsana.
Material and Method:-
From each village randomly 50 faecal samples were collected before starting mass deworming programme from all age group of animal from 10 to 15 farmers by proper identification of their animal.
7 days after actual mass deworming( Fenbendazole) again samples were collected (second sample) from the same animal with proper care.
Total 650 to 700 samples were screened and studied at D.S. Laboratory, Vihar. yearwise statement is as under.

All 4762 faecal samples were screened in the D.S.Laboratory,Vihar during the year 2005 to 2011.During these 7 years regularly mass deworming has been carried out. The Nematode infection is found varied from years to years. Before mass deworming it was from maximum 10% to minimum 0.92% in cattle and in buffalo maximum 11.5% to minimum 1.75%.
After mass deworming in cattle , it was found from maximum 2.7% to minimum 0% and in buffalo maximum 3.4% to minimum 0%. To minimize the worm load it is necessary to take mass deworming programme regularly every year.
