Course DescriptionThis course is computer programming promoting fundamental concepts of computational thinking as well as knowledge of how computers and other digital devices operate. The goal of the course is to teach students how to design and implement computer programs that solve modern-day problems and address common challenges. Students will learn a wide range of programming tools and solve complex problems through hands-on experiences. There is no prescribed development environment; appropriate resources may include Java, Scratch, Alice, Python, Visual Basic (.Net), spreadsheet software and JavaScript. Students will be prepared to take the IB and/or AP Computer Science exams.
