Comments:
· Very happy with the service provided, however, the surrounding environment looks quite dated
· Would be helpful to get a written report occasionally that could be shared with nursery or other health professionals, currently relies on our ability to explain what audiologist have told us(which is not often a clear situation). Appointments sometimes arrive very close to the day of the appointment-if we cant make it we usually cant get another appointment for some time. It would be appreciated if we could get more than 1-2 weeks notice
· Clean the baby toys
· None - very satisfied
· Missed appt confused as to time and still was seen. Very commendable
· Found coming to Sighthill HC much easier than finding Lauriston building
Parents were asked to advise us of one thing about the Paediatric Audiology service they would like to see changed in order to improve the service for parents or where offered the opportunity to add any further comments - Parents did not offer any comments or suggestions
One final question was asked of all parents:
To help us develop services for Paediatric Audiology, could you please state your preference for how you could deliver services in the future. Would you prefer?
Option A (Community)– to be offered an appointment closer to home that is more convenient for traveling but may not give you a full report on your child’s hearing ability
Option B (Department)– to be offered an appointment within the Paediatric Audiology department at the Lauriston Building in the city centre that can give you a full report on your child’s hearing ability
(30 completed answers. 6/30=Option A. 22/30=Option B. 2/30=both)
In Summary – 55% of respondents approve of these proposed developments with 15% wishing to stay with the current provisions
