Job Summary:
· The HR Generalist is responsible for the administration of human resources policies and procedures and provides day-to-day support to designated functional groups and business partners. Partners with client groups to design and implement human resource strategies related to improving organizational capability, change management, team development and managing talent acquisition. Implements, maintains, and oversees programs and procedures for associates in the areas of talent acquisition, talent management, compensation, communications, training and organizational development, performance management, and employee relations. The HR Generalist is responsible for administration of the Talent Management System (TMS).
· The Generalist reports directly to the Human Resource Manager.
· The Generalist interfaces with management and employees in different departments, BCI, attorneys, recruitment sources, employment candidates, government agencies, and different vendors.
Essential Job Functions:
The HR Generalist is accountable for:
· Working closely with client organizations to establish a strong business partnership;
· Providing coaching to managers, supervisors, team leaders & associates to increase organizational productivity and team effectiveness;
· Acts as an HR subject matter expert in advising management to make sound employee related decisions;
· Staying current with TMS; making recommendations concerning updates; being a TMS subject matter expert;
· Assisting in all aspects of recruitment; keeping up to date and utilizing appropriate social media where appropriate;
· Networking and maintaining positive relationships with industry contacts, universities, employment services, vendors, headhunters, recruiters, association memberships, trade groups, key contacts, etc.;
· Assisting in the development of job descriptions;
· Helping managers schedule temporary employees and interns;
· Providing guidance, leadership, and coordinating regular training;
· Working with HR Manager to assist the management team on decisions affecting talent resources such as performance appraisals, job evaluations, and disciplinary action; ensuring consistency in administration;
· Providing coaching to managers, supervisors, team leaders & associates to increase organizational productivity and team effectiveness;
· Developing, communicating, interpreting, and implementing HR policies;
· Developing and maintaining positive relationships with employees in all areas of the organization; bringing employee issues and/or concerns to management’s attention;
· Obtaining factual information and conducting investigations concerning employee/supervisor inquiries and employee issues and/or concerns; Keeping appropriate documentation of all investigations;
· Helping to effectively carry out primary annual HR processes as it affects their business partners including performance management, development planning, compensation planning, and HR Planning, where applicable;
· Working towards meeting the goals assigned in the department and company;
· Approving invoices up to $800.00 for expenses incurred in the performance of regular job functions; submitting all charges for budget purposes; making sure to stay within approved budgets;
· Submitting annual budget requests in relations to recruitment and other areas of this position;
· Compiling data, preparing reports and working with attorneys, BCI, auditors and HR Manager to complete forms related to EEO, AA, FCC, State, and Federal laws as required; keeping files on all reports filed; making information available to the public as required by regulations;
· Maintaining records, preparing reports, analyzing results, and making recommendations for improvements strategic to company needs in functional areas of responsibility;
· Attending and assisting with Company-sponsored events as needed;
· Following all Company policies and procedures, including EEO and safety guidelines, at all times;
· Performing any miscellaneous departmental duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
· High School Diploma – required
· BA or BS degree with an HR or Business concentration; Or the equivalent combination of relevant education and experience – required
· Two years practical work experience in HR related subjects – required
· Knowledge and application of relevant laws and regulations governing relative HR subjects – required
· Three years prior supervisory experience – preferred
· Strong computer skills, including advanced skills with the Internet, computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Lotus and/or Excel, and Access in a Windows environment – required
· PHR – strongly preferred
· Labor relations experience a plus

Working Conditions:
· The HR Generalist is a full-time, exempt position; the working hours may vary to accommodate the needs of the department and the company. The HR Generalist must be available on nights, weekends, and holidays when business needs require it, such as for meeting with employees, and attending company events, etc.
· The HR Generalist coordinates planned time off in advance with the Human Resource Manager.
· In performing the essential job functions, the Generalist works with various office equipment including, but not limited to, telephones, personal computers, printers, fax machines, typewriters, paper shredders, and copy machines.
· The HR Generalist is required to drive on the job as needed and is subject to regular MVR checks. He/she must maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record the meets Company standards for an insurable driver at all times. Any time these conditions are not met, he/she must not drive on the job and must immediately report it to their supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sits, stands, stoops, talks, reads, drives, and writes in the performance of essential job functions. Light lifting of 30 lbs. is occasionally needed.
