ARTICLE II

MEMBERSHIP

Full Membership Criteria:

  1. An accredited four-year degree granting co-ed or single sex institution in New England.
  1. An active member of the NCAA Division III. (Effective 9/1/2008)
  1. Compliance with all NCAA Division III, and conference rules and regulations.
  1. Representation on the Council of Athletic Directors.
  1. Minimum commitment of two years, with no compensation for leaving the conference. (Notification of intent to terminate membership must be made in writing to the Commissioner by May 1st, one year prior to the start of the playing year that the institution will depart. Failure to fulfill obligation will result in an assessment of twice the current dues).

APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP

FULL

  1. An institution wishing to join the conference must apply in writing to the Commissioner by May 1st, at least one year prior to the start of the playing year they wish to participate.
  1. All applicants must complete the institutional information packet (as detailed in Appendix A) which must accompany the application.
  1. Should the Council of Athletic Directors consider pursuing the application, the applying institution will be given the opportunity to make a presentation for application at the fall conference meeting. At this time there will be an application fee of $600. One half of this fee will be applied to the institution’s membership dues if the institution is admitted and one half of the fee will be returned if they are denied membership.
  1. Recommendations will come from the Council of Athletic Directors and final approval of new members requires a two-thirds majority vote of the conference Council of Presidents.
