4thTERM NEWSLETTER
- FINAL EXAMINATIONS
We’re now exam ready! Just a few reminders for our parents and learners:
- The final exam. Your results from the 4th term will determine your position for 2018. You must ask yourself where do you see yourself in the next year? In what grade do you see yourself at school? As nerve wrecking as that sounds you need to give it your utmost best. Only the best! This term is your chance to make yourself and your parents proud, but mostly yourself. Learn to push your own boundaries and grow, learn to find motivation and encouragement to push yourself further and study harder. This is your moment to shine. Do not allow any external sources to dull your sparkle. At the end of the day these results are for the benefit of you.
- Sleep is vital. As scholars you need a good night’s rest before you study and take your exams. Your mind responds quicker and better when it’s well rested. Make sure you are getting in a minimum of 8 hours sleep daily. Whilst many students believe in staying up all night to cram in some last minute work we suggest you get your rest and wake up an hour earlier. With the rest your mind will better digest valuable information. With no sleep and cramming in information you strain your brain and won’t benefit much. Parents, this is the term where your child’s hard work will pay off. Please ensure that their meals are healthy and you are giving them ample time overseeing their work. Learning isn’t only within the classroom walls.
- EXAM TIMETABLE FOR ALL GRADES CONCERNED:
Our grade 10’s and 11’s kick off SAIS’s 2017 final examination on Monday, 30th of October!Exams for all grades will run through till Tuesday, 11th November 2017. We wish all of our learners the very best in these examinations and we hope that they have given it their all in the preparations leading up to this point. Scholars, this is your final shot. Make it count! Good luck!!

- REMAIN UPDATED

We thus urge you to keep the school updated if there is a change in any of your details, be it a change in cellphone numbers, physical address or employment, etc. Please keep your records updated to avoid any possible setbacks in the future.
- NEW REGISTRATIONS
Note that registrations for next year are now open. Please spread the word by sharing this exciting news to all your friends and families with kids. We thank you for your assistance in advance. This is an offer to all paying parents. Referral documents must be signed by all three parties (i.e. the referring parent, the referred parent and the school as witness) for official purposes. Due processes will be followed.

- PUBLIC HOLIDAYS IN THIS TERM AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN OUR COUNTRY:
CHRISTMAS DAY – 25 DECEMBER
Christmas day, celebrated on December 25th on Catholic, Protestant and most Orthodox churches, is a public holiday in South Africa. On this day Christians commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. The story of Christ’s birth has been handed down for centuries based primarily on the Christian Gospels of Matthew and Luke. Christmas is an event which virtually the whole world acknowledges. Many people across various cultures and religions worldwide celebrate Christmas. This day is often focused on goodwill and celebration with friends and family. Gift-giving is a near-universal part of Christmas celebrations. The giving of presents was used by Christians around the world to proclaim the Good News of the real Gift, The Christ Child, who was born to die and give us the gift of pardon from sin and eternal life. Presently, Christmas is the largest annual economic stimulus in South Africa as well as many other countries.

For those who do not pay their school fees, the registration discount will be forfeited and reversed and the full registration fee will be added to your outstanding fees at the end of the year. Please, I encourage you all to keep your fees up-to-date.
- CONCLUSION
Stationery will only be handed out in 2018 to learners whose school fees are up to date!
Please give your children all the support, advice and guidance that they need during this period. This may be a stressful period for them so please ensure they stay properly hydrated and well nourished with omega 3 and protein rich foods to help combat their stress. Please encourage children to watch less TV during this time and to play rather in their study breaks to refresh their minds. We wish all our learners, and parents, the very best during this period. We are sure that your results at the end of this term will be outstanding as you all worked very hard throughout the year.
As this is our last newsletter for 2017, we would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our learners, parents and SAIS staff a good and well deserved rest during the December and January school holidays.
