INTERGROUP MEETING MINUTES
January 9, 2014
The meeting was called to order by Chair Annie G. at 7:33 pm with the Serenity Prayer.

There were 14 intergroup reps, 9 board members, and 1 visitor present.
Annie G. announced there would be no speaker tonight. We will have a 10-minute think tank at the end of the meeting. Gaddy explained how the meeting works, for new representatives.
The sign-in sheet was passed around. The Email Outreach program was explained. Roll call was taken.
The 12 Traditions were read by Madeline; Wanda read from the OA Concepts of Service.
The minutes of the December 12, 2013 Intergroup meeting were approved as submitted. The 7th Tradition basket was passed.
ELECTIONS:
It was announced that Heather is moving; therefore, the Publications position is vacant. Courtney volunteered to fill the position, and was elected by acclimation.
That will leave the Young Person Chair position vacant, which will be open for election next month.
World Service delegates – we have 1, we can have 3 more. Joyce described the position and the requirements – 1 year of abstinence, 2 years of service above the group level. Alice was elected by acclimation.
Region 2 representatives – we have 5, we can have 1 more. Requires 1 year of abstinence, 4th and 5th step. Bonnie K. was elected by acclimation.
BOARD REPORTS:

VICE CHAIR:
- No report. Will be having by-laws committee meeting.
SECRETARY:
- No report
TREASURER:
- The Financial Report was distributed to the reps. 2013 was in the black, butDecember 2013was down from December 2012.
- Doug requested a motion to ratify thepayments made in December and authorization to pay thebudgeted bills and contributions for January. Motion was made, seconded and adopted.
OFFICE MANAGER:
- Absent
12th STEP WITHIN:
- ABC’s of Abstinence – 1/25/2014
- Steps 8&9 workshop Saturday 2/22/2014, 1-4 pm, Morningside Presbyterian Church in Fullerton. Cost: $7. Steps 10, 11, and 12 will be later in the year.
- Discussed the surveyabout participation/non-participation in OCI.
ACTIVITIES CHAIR:
- Frank discussed Compulsive Idol/Repeat Boutique. More volunteers still needed. New flyer available; rehearsal Feb.1; event is Feb. 8.
- Sweet Surrender women’s retreat. Men’s 1-day retreat.
MEETING LIAISON:
- Tell Gaddy about any meeting problems.
PUBLICATIONS:
- New Communique now shows years of abstinence and years in recovery.
- Marilyn volunteered to be our new webmaster.
PUBLIC INFORMATION:
- Upcoming events – expos, health fairs. Sandi requested helpers – will do conference calls so face-to-face meetings will not be required.
- Anyone who would like to be on a Public Information committee, contact Sandi H.
YOUNG PEOPLE CHAIR:
- No report.
OLD/NEW BUSINESS:
- R2 service/concepts workshop – April, New Song Church.
- Annie gave a demonstration of an Intergroup Representative doing a report for their meeting. Suggestion for reps – do a short report every week.
