► At Engro, I am working in commissioning, start-up and normal operation activities of EDC/VCM

(Ethylene dichloride/Vinylchloride Monomer) plant on following sections.

○ Ethylene Reactor Section consists of

2 ethylene reactors,1 fluidized bed ethylene reactor,1 centrifugal compressor for catalyst

Loading,Chiller, Oxyobsorber and oxy stripper.

○ Distillation Section consists of

4 distillation columns are to purify EDC by forming Water-EDC azeptrope and separating

Them by density difference in condensers.

○ Cracking Furance Section consists of

2 furances working on the principle of thermal decomposition of EDC to yield vinyl chloride

And HCL at 950 F at high pressure.

○ EDC- Stripping Section consist of

EDC Stripper and a set of condensers are to separate EDC at specific Temperatures.

○ EDC and VCM Storage Section consists of

2 EDC Storage tanks each of 2000 cubic meter with Loading and Unloading arrangements.

Consist of 02 Vacuums concentrators working at 180F and 135mmhg equipped with;
