Dear Head Teacher
Your School’s Participation in the 2018 Health Related Behaviour Survey
I am writing to request your participation in the forthcoming 2018 survey of the health and wellbeing of our children and young people.
To give us the best chance of improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people in Hertfordshire we would like all of our schools to participate in our regular Health Related Behaviour Survey.
This survey has been used extensively in Hertfordshire since 2004. Schools who have participated are overwhelmingly positive about the benefits of the high quality data, which covers an extensive range of health and wellbeing issues, and we are very grateful for your participation.
Participating schools complete the survey once every two years. We are writing to you now because we need to confirm which schools will be participating in 2018.
This survey data is our best way of understanding what is needed to help improve the health and wellbeing of the children and young people in your school. This intelligence can also be mapped against each of the Ofsted judgements as it is a key means of maximising children’s opportunities and attainment. You can see the results of the most recent survey at https://www.hertshealthevidence.org/data/catalogue/topic-mcyp/
We are hoping that as many schools as possible will complete the survey this year, with the current survey only being available online.
Please find enclosed an electronic form which we would like you to return by Friday 17 November 2017. If for some reason your school feels unable to participate in the survey then it is important for us to understand why so you will see there is an opportunity to feed this back.
We hope that we can secure your participation in this high profile survey. If you have any further questions about the survey please contact:
Shelley Taylor – Young People’s Public Health Officer,
Yours sincerely,
