OUTLINE OF ROLE
- Reporting to the Strategic Business Manager.
- Leads and Manages – 2 finance assistants.
- To manage the production of monthly accounts on SIMS FMS.
- To prepare monthly financial reports including all reconciliations and comparisons with Budget
- Ideally to manage the payroll.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- To manage the production of monthly accounts on FMS. This will include:-
- Ensuring that all orders, invoices, journals and related tasks are managed to meet all statutory requirements.
- Ensuring the complete and accurate processing of all transactions
- closing the monthly book keeping on FMS at each month end,
- preparation of monthly management accounts;
- comparing income and expenditure with the budget
- To manage the monthly payroll on SAGE for 160 staff
- To manage two finance assistants
- To maintain the fixed asset register
- To assist the Strategic Business Manager with ad-hoc accounting exercises such as the development of a contracts log and an Insurance log
The post holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people for whom s/he comes into contact with will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the school’s Child Protection Policy at all times.
