Description:

This individual will assist in effectively planning, developing, and implementing a fully integrated human resources strategy for SSV retail operations. Will be responsible for employee relations, workforce planning and analysis, compensation, benefits, HRMS and recognition. Will administer a wide variety of human resource programs in support of the retail operation objectives and will ensure compliance with all local, state and federal employment laws, policies, and regulations.

• Support day-to-day needs of SSV administrative and retail staff.

• Partner closely with SSV HR Director to administer company wide HR policies.

• Maintains knowledge of and identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant, accurate, and updated regularly.

• Partner with SSV HR Director as initial point of contact for SSV employee questions.

• Investigates and advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

• Work closely with benefits, compensation, Organizational Development, HR technology, Recruitment, and Payroll departments to assist in implementing practices and policies to retail operations.

• Managing large scale Human Resources projects.

• Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of SSV operations and Vail Resorts policies, code of ethics, mission, vision and values.

• Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

• Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.

• Provide support for training and seminar functions as necessary.

• Facilitate orientation and management development training, as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field

• 5-7 years of human resources experience

• Proficient in MS Office applications; Work, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

• Communicate fluently in English

• Experience speaking publicly and facilitating trainings and seminars in a well versed manner

• Strong project management skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• 1 year supervisory experience

• PHR or SPHR certification

• Familiarity with HRIS/Payroll software

• Retail and/or resort background a plus

• Taleo, PeopleSoft and/or Success Factors experience
