PREVIOUS MINUTES

Minutes were not completed from previous meeting. March 2016 minutes will need to be approved and seconded at May 27th Meeting.

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

TREASURER’S REPORT

  • Treasurer was unable to match/reconcile all invoices, some numbersare indraft still butTreasurer estimates a profit of approximately $11,000 from the fete.
  • When Treasurer (T. Mirkovic) is unavailable J. Whittaker may assist with Treasurer’s duties as long as the Treasurer will sign off on all paperwork.
  • Current cash balance at $26,365.55

CANTEEN REPORT

  • $1,424.05 deficit for last month of trading but this period included school holidays and C. D’s Superannuation and tax.
  • K. Barnes to write new contract to reflect C. D’s. new hours of employment. (Canteen to be open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday only from Term 2).
  • City of Stirling EHO inspection founds gaps in the ceiling of the canteen and a fridge not keeping temperature. These minor problems have both been addressed.
  • C.D. will also mention new canteen opening days in the next “Specials” e-mail to go out to parents.
  • Current cash balance at $4,833.15

UNIFORM SHOP REPORT

  • Current cash balance at $9,887.50

FUNDRAISING REPORT

  • Disco booked for Friday 13th May. K.H has advertised for a roster of volunteers in the newsletter , no response so far. Sausage sizzle to be manned by Year 6 parents/volunteers as the money raised at the sausage sizzle will go towards the Year 6 leaving function.
  • $5.00 entry fee for disco and Lucky Dips for sale for $1.00
  • A discussion was held around the implementation of an In/Out system for children going to the toilet as well as separate entrance and exit for the toilet. These ideas to be refined prior to the disco.
  • K.B. raised the idea of a stall to sell left over items from the fete. There is a car park stall to be held on Beaufort street on the 15th May by the City of Stirling but it will require volunteers to man the stall.
  • Federal Election day cake stall on July 2nd.
  • Student Harry donated all of his profits ($28.00)from his fete day Pokémon card stall back to the school. K.B. will purchase a small gift to say thank-you to Harry. K.B. to let committee know of the gift and the amount as P&C members would like to contribute to this as well.

Interschool 16th September (sports carnival 2 weeks prior to this.)

Term 4 disco – 28th October.

GENERAL BUSINESS

  • T.M. raised that, as of 1st July, the new Superannuation payment system “Superstream” means that the P&C can no longer pay superannuation by cheque, it has to be done electronically. K.B to discuss with WACSSO but it appears this will be able to occur if K.B. and T.M. log on electronically at the same time to process the payment.
  • T.M. to re-submit the annual paperwork that is required in relation to registering as a charity.
  • K.B. taking care of thank-you letters to people involved in the fete.
  • K.B investigating booking a sausage sizzle at Bunnings in 2017 as a general fundraiser for the school.
  • K.H. – P&C News – next edition to include a reminder to purchase any artwork from the fete by Friday 13th May, reminder about the disco, reminder about canteen opening days and winter jackets are in stock at the Uniform Shop.
