Help Families Celebrate More Birthdays
by Donating to Relay for Life
Parents,
The Nichols-Lawson Relay for Life team wants to give you a chance to honor friends and family members who have battled cancer. There are several different ways you can donate to the American Cancer Society, which will help fund cancer research. Please check the options you would like to do, write the names of those you are honoring, and return this sheet with your donation by Friday, April 19. Make checks payable to the American Cancer Society.
Option #1: Sun, Moon, Footprint, and Cupcake cards for $1.00
We are selling sun, moon, footprint, and cupcake cards for $1.00 at school each day. Studentscan write the name of a person they know who has battled cancer, or they can write their own name on the card, indicating that they’ve donated. When the students donate at school, they receive a birthdaytrinket, in honor of the future birthdays they are helping make possible.
Option #2: White Luminaria Bag for $5.00
We are selling white luminaria bags for $5.00. The name of your friend or relative will be written onthe bag, and a candle will be placed inside the bag. All luminaria bags will line the track the night ofthe Relay for Life event at Sylacauga High School on May 10. The lit bags are bright, beautiful
reminders of hope against the night sky each year at the stadium.
Option #3: Sky Lanterns for $20.00
Sky lanterns are similar to small hot-air balloons. They are all lit and released
at the same time during a special ceremony on Relay night. It is a
breath-taking sight to see them fill the night skywith light.
Option #4: Tiki Torches of Hope for $50.00
Tiki torches of hope have a purple bow and a gold plaque on them. They are
lit and attached to the fence surrounding the track. They are available to take
home once the Luminaria Ceremony is complete.
