ADMININSTRATORS MESSAGE
Happy New Year to all the Lodge Members and Coworkers. I wish everyone a healthy and prosperous New Year. This to my wish for our fraternity as we enter 2018. We all know 2017 was an extremely rough year for our Lodge, but we struggled and strived and made it through the year. But everyone knows that 2018 is going to be a challenge for us.
WE have some amazing gentlemen who have stepped up and taken pride and leadership with our Lodge. They have planned many events that are designed to provide entertainment for our members as well as support the Lodge financially. Unfortunately, up until now these events have not had the support of a majority of the members. We can plan events but without your support, their success is minimal. If you have ideas for events, please let us know, come to a meeting or talk with a Board member. We need YOU whether it is to stop in for a drink during a game, come to a fish fry and dance on a Friday night or enjoy one of our monthly special activities. So, see you around the lodge.
In closing, our membership needs to continue to grow in order to maintain the ability to support our children at Mooseheart and seniors at Moosehaven. It is important that you not only maintain your dues but also encourage your friends to do so also. A solid membership will allow the Moose fraternity to continue to be an active part of the Janesville community as well as continue our commitment to Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
Fraternally,
Matt Boardman, Administrator
Administrator may be seen by appointment outside of office hours. Call 608-752-0809 for appointment.

R—RETENTION P—PARTICIPATION M—MEMBERSHIP
A lot of new wonderful things happening at our Lodge.
- Starting Monday December 18tha weekly email will be sent out to members with an email address—if you have an email we may not have on file get with Matt or myself or any Board member and let us know so we can add you to our release list.
- On West Court Street in the area of the 5-Points (West Side of Tracks) our first ever new great looking Moose billboard is up. Drive by, check it out, on the South Side of West Court Street (left) as you drive toward the Lodge.
- We as a Lodge, the LOOM and WOTM have ordered over 50 Lodge shirts—Get yours now if you don’t have one. The display is in the Social Quarters. The quality is outstanding and the price is very fair. Show your pride order now. See the bartender, Matt, myself or any Board member, or Mike Wixom, our shirt specialist to order.
- We are looking for someone to be kind and generous and donate a small 19” or 23” flat screen TV so we can reinstate our information channel. The TV we had was old and finally broke down. Help if you can. Thank You.
- We will be posting a list of our musical entertainment with a photo of them (as we get them) with the type of music they offer. All bands should be heard be all members—favorites are great—but for the Lodge to be a success attendance is needed at all Friday dances. PARTICIPATION PLEASE!!
Don’t forget to block out New Years Eve on the calendar with “will be at the Moose” that night, dance to Rainbow Bridge, finger food all night, champaign to toast the New Year, fun and more. Be there 6pm on Dec. 31. PARTICIPATION is needed at a very high level to help our lodge to continue to operate. Fish fry, jitney dinners, Sunday wings and more can only remain if we have participation and can continue to offer them to everyone. LOOM and Co-Workers please take the time to thank your fellow brothers and sister who volunteer to help. Thank your women and men Board members for the countless hours they put in and thank our Administrator, Matt, for all he does. Your attendance and participation is requested the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month to attend the Lodge (your) G.M. meeting an hour or two is all it takes. Be there 7pm. Thank you everyone, I love our fraternity and all the people at our Lodge who make it up. We are great waiting to be greater!!
Dennis Dost, Governor
Please feel free to contact me anytime. Like the Lodge Board I am here for you!!

JR. GOVENORS MESSAGE
Hello Brothers and Co-Workers,
The holidays Season is upon us. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and have a happy and safe New Year.
The Moose Legion sponsored the Head Start program in Janesville this year and delivered the Christmas gifts along with a shirt that stated FUTURE MOOSE on December 1st. This consisted of gathering and delivering Christmas gifts for about 75 children that have no other opportunities for gifts. I would like to say a big thank you for those of you that PARTICIPATED by purchasing gifts. This event has been a great success in past years as well as this year. I would like to thank all my fellow Moose Legion members that sacrificed by taking the day off work and out of their lives to help in this event, also thank you to The Woman Of The Moose for sponsoring the future Moose shirts.
We continue to have social events planned each month for the rest of the year, so please continue to support those and our great Lodge. I am glad to see new and current members that keep coming out for our monthly events; Wings n’ Things, Friday Night Fish Fry, Thursday Night Dinner, or just stopping out to visit with your friends in our Social Quarters.
As we continue to grow and move forward with the Moose this year, it is very commendable to see the PARTICIPATION and all the new member faces around the Lodge. Keep up the great work Brothers and Co-Workers!
Let’s not forget about RPM. Remember, RETENTION, PARTICIPATION AND MEMBERSHIP is the key to helping us be successful so we continue to move forward with the times in this great fraternity.
The first order of RPM shirts has been ordered and delivered to all the members that purchase these great shirts wear them with pride. We will continue to take orders for the shirts. We have RPM shirts and pricing on display in the Social Quarters that you can place an order for. I will be sending an order in as soon as we have an ample amount ordered. Please see Mike Wixom or any of the bartenders in the Social Quarters to place your order. Keep in mind, these shirts help us advertise our great Lodge!

ORIENTATION
R—RETENTION P—PARTICIPATION M—MEMBERSHIP
Monday, January 22 @ 7pm is our next orientation night for new members and members NOT yet having attended an orientation. That date, gentlemen, gives everyone enough time to bring in a new paid member for orientation. Don’t forget guys. That night is also our “soon to be member” burger dinner we have each month. bring in a prospective new member, let us talk to them about our great Lodge and Fraternity, he joins and ‘wala’ his and your dinner is complimentary and he is orientated that night. Should he not join (why I don’t know) and dinner for you two will be $10.00. Sometimes help from the outside a third party can and does push him over the line. A new member orientated ready to help our Lodge right out of the box can only be a win/win situation for the member, you and our Lodge and community and kids and seniors we serve.
Dennis Dost Governor/Orientation Chairman

R—RETENTION P—PARTICIPATION M—MEMBERSHIP
Our ‘Just Ask’ program is off and running. Just Ask someone to become a great LOOM member. Friends, business associates, family, relatives and more are all possible Moose brothers. You might be surprised on how many really want to be part of something as great as the Moose and help their community and kids. One new member that’s all to start, one will lead to more, but you have to start at one guys, your Lodge and community needs more hands to help—JUST ASK!! Remember the hard work for one or a few becomes easy with many. We as a Lodge are only 18 new members away from growth, something we have not had for quite some time.
As I stated in December, 1/3 of our active members recruiting only one each and we grow by approximately 100!! What good we could do with 100 more members wanting to be a Moose. I want to thank everyone, men and co-workers who have brought in new members if you have not “it’s Time” to help your Lodge. Everyone can –JUST ASK to gain another new member or your FIRST new member—Gentlemen think about this. Our future depends on YOU!! We all support something much greater than us—the children at Mooseheart, the seniors at Moosehaven, our Lodge and the Community we live in. Please guys—JUST ASK. Your lodge and so many people are depending on you/us. We have only 4 months left in this Moose year. One new member is not too much to ask, more than 1 would be super. Remember the rest of the year incentive printed in the December newsletter. LET’S GROW!! JUST ASK!! Grow is a good 4 letter word.
